Privacy & external services
AutoCrafterAI does not run its own AI. Content generated by the plugin is sent directly from your WordPress site to whichever AI provider you have configured, using your own API key. The plugin does not proxy your content through any AutoCrafterAI server.
The plugin uses these external services, and only when you have opted into them:
- AI providers (used only when you have configured a key): OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini. Your prompts and generated content are sent to whichever provider you configured. Each provider has its own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy — linked below.
- No usage tracking or analytics. The plugin does not phone home for any other reason. Deactivating the plugin stops all outbound calls.

Installation
- Upload the plugin folder to
/wp-content/plugins/or install via the WordPress Plugins screen. - Activate AutoCrafterAI from the Plugins page.
- Go to AutoCrafterAI Settings and add an API key for at least one provider. Google Gemini has a free tier that does not require a credit card. The built-in Demo Mode works with no API key at all.
- Go to AutoCrafterAI Generator and start chatting.

How do I use ChatGPT with WordPress?

Install AutoCrafterAI, drop your OpenAI API key into Settings, and start chatting from the Generator page. Every response saves as a real WordPress draft with a title, HTML body, and (optionally) auto-generated schema markup. You can also use Claude or Gemini instead of ChatGPT — the workflow is identical.

Where are my API keys stored?

In your WordPress database (
wp_options), masked in the UI so they are not visible on screen. They never leave your server except when the plugin makes a direct HTTPS call to whichever provider you configured. -
Does the plugin send my content anywhere besides the AI provider?

No. AutoCrafterAI does not have a content server. All AI calls go directly from your WordPress site to whichever provider you selected for that chat.

What is AEO Mode?

AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization — writing content that gets sourced by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. The AEO Engine scores your content and suggests small edits that make it citation-friendly for AI search.

Yes. Turn on EU Mode in Settings and OpenAI calls route through the EU-resident endpoint.

What happens if I uninstall the plugin?

Uninstall removes the plugin’s custom tables, options, transients, cron events, and per-user counters. Your WordPress posts are kept — those are real WP posts that belong to you.

How does the Token Usage Meter work?

Every time you make an AI call, the plugin captures the exact token count from the provider’s response (OpenAI returns
prompt_tokens+completion_tokens; Anthropic returnsinput_tokens+output_tokens; Google returnspromptTokenCount+candidatesTokenCount). The plugin multiplies by the current per-model pricing and shows the running monthly total + per-model breakdown on the Dashboard. All cost goes directly to your AI provider on your key. -
Does Content Refresh delete my old posts?

No. It rewrites the post content in place — URL, slug, comments, categories, tags, featured image, SEO meta, and analytics history are all preserved. A
_nsai_refreshed_atmeta key prevents the same post from being surfaced again next month.
