Wbcom Designs – BuddyPress Activity Filter

Description

Admin can set default and customized activities to be listed on the front end.
It will also allow setting your default option for activities. You can change the default from Everything to Post Updates. The plugin also allows you to enable activities from custom post types when they are published.

It’s not for the BuddyBoss Platform :(, you can find a similar option within their plugin.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/buddypress-activity-filter directory, or install the plugin directly through the WordPress plugins screen.

  2. Activate the plugin through the \’Plugins\’ screen in WordPress

  3. Use the Settings-> BuddyPress -> Options -> Activity Filter Settings screen to set the default activity type and hide specific activity type(s).

FAQ

By default, which filters will be displayed in the activity dropdown?

By default, all everything will be displayed.

By default, which filters will be hidden in the activity dropdown?

By default, no filter will be hidden.

If I selected ‘Display in Groups,’ what would happen?

If you selected the ‘Display in Groups’ option, all BuddyPress groups display this activity when you add a new post in that specific custom post type.

What will be displayed if the ‘Rename in Activity Stream’ field is empty?

If this field is empty, then the singular label of the custom post type will be displayed.

How can the custom post-type activity content display on the front end be modified?

You can modify activity content by using the given filters.

The plugin works perfectly as described. Note that after installing it, you'll still see the old recorded activities on the wall, but the plugin will stop recording the checked activities hence, they'll not show on your wall.
